Ben grew up in Mabel, Minnesota before going on to get a degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He spent much of his youth listening to Twins games on KFIL. Ben moved on and wrote articles for his college sports website and also wrote Rochester Honkers game summaries while interning with Townsquare Media in Rochester. Ben likes most all the sports, though he knows the letdown that is associated with the Minnesota teams. One of his first CD's was Alan Jackson, and you can hear a mix of country music, from Merle Haggard to Taylor Swift when Ben is on air.

Spring Grove Saturday
After riding my bicycle around on a cool Saturday morning, I headed over to Spring Grove once again for their Homecoming celebration. There was a whole lot going on, and some Spring Grove pop was definitely consumed.
I got there in time to see the Spring Grove Veterans Memorial dedication...

Steak Fry A Big Hit
The Fillmore County Cattlemen put on their steak fry on Monday, and though I was not able to make it, Shari was.
The information I had received had said that the event started at 6:00. Well, Shari said that by that time about 100 people had already gone through the line and gotten their food...
B&B Bowl Ribbon Cutting
Monday afternoon was the ribbon cutting ceremony at B&B Olympic Bowl in Preston. After the fire on January 1, 2016, the bowling alley/restaurant was rebuilt and opened back up for business late January this year. Dairy Days Fun On Warm Weekend
This past weekend was Dairy Days in Adams. Being June and Dairy Month and all, it's a town event that sticks. Though I was not able to make it to the outdoor movie on Friday night, and did not participate in any 5K on Saturday (I'm still training), there was a lot of fun to be had on Sunday...
Congrats to Some Other Grads
After many high school graduations the past couple weeks, I forgot to post about another graduation in May. D.A.R.E. graduation, that is. A couple Thursdays ago, there were 169 sixth-grade students from five different Fillmore County schools graduating from the DARE program...
A Day As A Lanesboro Tourist
Tuesday afternoon, I spent the time after my show to get some tourist stuff in. Then, the owners of the ice cream parlor in Lanesboro took us on on a day out.
The rest of the group started out with breakfast at the Spud Boy Diner, which I was not able to make...
