Many of us who live in southeast Minnesota are pretty happy about it. I mean, sure, we’ve got our issues just like everyone else. But, at the end of the day, we all live here for a reason.

Job search website Zippia has just released a new study that analyzed data from 130 Minnesota cities with populations of more than 2,000 people to come up with a list of the state's happiest places.

The study looked at several factors to determine their ranking, ranging from cost of living, to employment rate, to home ownership and poverty rates. It also looked at marriage rates and commute time to work. After crunching the numbers, they determined that Kasson, Minnesota is the second happiest place to live in the state!

Located about 15 minutes west of Rochester, Kasson boasts a population of around 6,000 and, according to public data, nearly 80 percent own their own homes. The unemployment rate is under 5 percent.

Other southeast Minnesota towns on the list include Stewartville (#36), Lake City (#42), Red Wing (#100) and Austin (#105). Byron and St. Charles, which both fit the study's population parameters, were not on the list.

And where did Rochester rank? The Med City came in at number 63 on the list. What do you think? Does that rank surprise you? If you live in Rochester, are you happy about it?
